Along with a lot of you, last Monday was my first official work from home day. And everything was going fine until about noon. When suddenly… my phone started exploding with last-minute Zoom requests, FaceTime calls, and even an invitation to do a FB Live. Girl! I don’t do FB Lives in ideal circumstances. (There’s a reason there’s a Post-It note over my computer’s camera.) But all that nonsense brought home the new truth. And that is that my home office was no longer a pajama-friendly make-up free zone.
Fine! Tuesday, I slapped some lipstick on.
By Wednesday, I realized my selection of cute, comfortable, yet casual clothes stunk. And prancing around in high heels and my usual work clothes was not going to happen.
On Friday, I broke down, grabbed my laptop and credit card, and settled in to correct this oversight.
But where to go?
It seems when things are chaotic, we default to what we know, and since 90% of my weekend wear are two brands – Current/Elliott & ATM I went there. The grey maxi-dress (pictured below) is on its way as we speak!
What Makes These Two Brands So Great…?
Washable:
The cotton ones, at least. Hey, one less thing to schlep to the cleaners is a win. And after a couple of washes, the cotton is as soft as your favorite sheets.
You Can Leave the House:
I mean – normally you can – without being embarrassed. Run into a work acquaintance at Petsmart won’t have you ducking behind the end-cap to avoid being spotted.
Dress Them Up:
Have more than a dog food run on the agenda? No worries. You can easily toss on a denim jacket or leather bomber and big earrings, and you’re good to go. Or add your own Style Guide signatures to quickly turn these pieces fabulously you.
Don’t have signatures yet? No problem. You can grab your Style Guide here to get started.
So if you’re stuck at home and looking for casual pieces to get you through all these lovely (insert eye-rolling emoji) ways to virtually connect, check out these two options. You will absolutely not be disappointed.
Some of my personal favorites are gathered at the bottom of the page, so make sure to scroll to the bottom.
Has all this craziness affected your style? What are you doing to deal? Pop me a comment below, I’d love to hear from you.
Really. Please. All this isolation is making me thirsty for some girl talk.
‘Til next week.
Hugs & Happy Shopping
