There are several Fall ’21 trends I’m going to give a pass; crop tops that show off my stomach, highlighter-yellow anything, and most of all — clogs.
However, I’m completely on board with the head-to-toe knit trend. It checks all the important boxes:
* flattering on tons of different body shapes
* comfortable
* cozy
* and super-duper versatile
What more could a girl ask for???
You may be asking yourself where to start. Well, no worries, sunshine. I’ve got you covered with 5 (okay 6) of my favorites.
And because we focus on your favorite feature first, that’s how I broke them up to make it easier.
Bust and/or Waist:
Depending on how high and where you tie the belt – front or back, this maxi does a brilliant job of emphasizing your bust or waist. The wide v-neckline presents gobs of opportunities for accessories. Think necklaces, a chic scarf, a sparkly broach, or an awesome pair of chandelier earrings.
An added bonus? The bottom half is loose enough to camouflage a pesky middle.
Legs:
I love this mini sweater dress because of its flexibility – dress it up or dress it down, depending on your shoe choice. And the slight a-line skirt makes it very forgiving of any extra in the mid-section. All while emphasizing the heck out of your legs.
Bust or Legs:
When I was growing up, my mom bought me a sweater vest with a blouse sown in. One-piece automatic layers. Ironically I hated it as a kid but can’t help but appreciate the ease and speed as an adult.
Well, this is the 2021 version. A sweater dress with a blouse already provided. Not only is the hem of the blouse a fun, unexpected surprise, but it completely alleviates the worry about what to wear underneath. Not to mention, it’s another piece that can be worn in oodles of different ways depending on your accessory choices. I can see this being a fast, comfortable option for the office that transitions beautifully into after-work cocktails.
Legs or Bust:
So I cheated a smidge on this one – it’s not technically 100% knit, but it’s such a brilliant, not to mention fresh choice I couldn’t resist including it. And another done-for-you layering piece.
This dress is also perfect if you need to balance out a voluptuous bust with a more delicate hip area.
It also comes in a soft pink, chestnut brown, and pale blue version, but the black and white number is by far the coolest.
Waist or Bum:
Yes, another 90’s trend is making a comeback – argyle. While argyle from head to toe would be a bit much, especially for Petites. An oversized cardigan like this one is a smart option if you want a favorite summer dress or top to work this Fall. Plus, the cropped length is perfect if you like to accentuate your waist or bum.
Bum or Bust:
If you’ll looking to accentuate your bum, this fitted number will do the job. However, don’t stop there. It’s also a super versatile addition to any closet. Pop it on over a short slip dress, wear it with jeans and a cute graphic tee, or even over leggings to lounge around the house.
That’s a wrap, sunshine!
Five (okay, six) nifty knit options for Fall that check all the boxes; stylish, versatile, cozy, and comfortable.
‘Til next week.
Hugs & happy shopping.
