It’s safe to say that espadrilles are the quintessential casual summer shoe. (I mean, we’ve all stumbled around on the beach in a pair of stilettos and sworn never to make that mistake again.) Besides for sandy situations espadrilles are absolute perfection for poolside cocktail parties and trekking through gravel parking lots on our way to farmers’ markets and music fests.
Unfortunately, all that traipsing around means their life span is super short – usually a season or less. So, this year, I decided to get a head start on replenishing my espadrille assortment while taking advantage of all the crazy summer sales going on.
Although to avoid going bonkers, I committed to only purchasing three pairs; flat, platform, and then a wild card.
If that sounds like the most brilliant plan ever, read on my fellow shoe aficionado:
Flat-ish:
Macy’s – Steve Madden – $89
Snakeskin may very well be the new black – they go with everything while adding a fun, lighter twist. Not to mention, these bad boys are terrifically comfortable. Win-Win.
A bunch of other colors and styles are available on stevemadden.com, although the sales haven’t kicked in there yet.
Platform:
marcfisher.com – $99.99

Making a platform choice was tough, but I finally settled on this mid-height Marc Fisher suede style. You’ll have to hurry though because at these rock bottom prices sizes and colors are quickly disappearing.
A word of warning… they run super-duper big. I ended up going a full size smaller than usual. The blush color was a semi-successful attempt to make my legs look longer. But if you’re not in love, no worries. They’re also available in black, beige, and dark brown.
Wild Card:
Bloomingdale’s – $395
Okay, okay. So, while these pink beauties aren’t on sale yet, (although Bloomies is offering Double Points for Loyalists), they are so darn cute I had to include them. By the way, these babies are brighter and lighter in real life. Think metallic bubble gum.
I’ll wrap it up for today, so you can go shop your heart out. Have fun!
‘Til next week.
Hugs and happy shopping.
