How much do we love neon shoes?
If you don’t yet, read-on and I’ll try to convince you.
Black, Grey, and White
Nothing says ‘goodbye winter’ better than the return of color. And while I love to see color on others, on me I typically steer clear.
Not for any religious or political reasons, it’s just adding a random pop of color to my closet feels like a lot of work.
I mean, say you buy a red dress. Then, you have to search for the perfect shoes, awesome jewelry, and a fabulous handbag before you can wear it. After all that, you wear it once and every time afterward people are saying, ‘Jiminy Christmas. There she goes wearing that red dress again.’
But when does a neutral habit turn into a rut and a rut turn into boring and predictable???
That’s is exactly what I was asking myself. Then the Universe answered by placing these sunny yellow heels front and center in the shoe department.
It was clearly a sign to step out of my very comfortable zone and try something new.
I quickly discovered three reasons we need to give the neon shoe trend a try;
- A cheap and easy wardrobe update. Of course, you could spend more, but these Guess platforms were just slightly over $100 at Dillard’s.
- They’re so cheerful they’ll definitely put a smile on your face. I mean, how can we be grumpy with little rays of sunshine strapped to our feet?
- They’re way more versatile than you may think.
Although I used the shoe purchase as an excuse to pick-up (yet another) BCBG shift dress it turned out to be unnecessary.
Upon returning home I checked my closet and realized there were two other dresses (a navy & white floral midi and a DVF vintage wrap number) that they look amazing with. I’m willing to bet the same thing will happen to you.
If you decide to give the neon shoe trend a try let me know.
Or… If you’re already a fan and I’ve been singing to the choir, share your favorites so we can check them out too.
Until next week.
Hugs and Happy Shopping.
Cheers!
