‘Tis the season for tights. A super fun time, especially if your legs are your favorite feature and you like to play around with fun patterns and unique colors.
Tights Can Be Troublesome Though
Like all things Petite Style, finding tights that fit can be a hassle.
Some super common complaints…
- They’re too big and wad up around my waist.
- They’re too long, so I have to fold over the foot and tuck under my toes.
- Or… they’re too big, so by lunchtime I have elephant knees.
So, something that should be simple turns into a struggle.
But it doesn’t have to be. Not anymore.

Looking For Basic Black (Or Grey, Navy, Green, Brown)
La Dearchuu
If you’re looking for a pair of basic opaques at a reasonable price, check out La Dearchuu.
Their Petite size fits women under 5’5″ and 130 lbs.
Pluses: They have a 30 money-back guarantee in case you don’t love them.
Minuses: They’re control top. Not the make-you-feel-like-a-sausage tight. But you definitely know it’s there.
They’re only $10 on Amazon. Want to take a look? Here’s the link.
Your Little Eco-Warrior Heart Will Sing
Rachel
Rachel currently has two environmentally aware options available. One is upcycled from nylon scraps, and the second from recycled plastic bottles. So clever, right!
Pluses: If you hate bind-y waists, these are for you. They have quite possibly the most comfortable waistband ever made.
Minuses: Stick to the classic styles. Some of their other options (like the faux over-the-knee) are not Petite friendly styles.

The Italians Have It All Figured Out
Oroblu
When looking for tights for clients, I always go to Oroblu first.
Why? Because Italian legwear typically runs slimmer and shorter, meaning fit is rarely an issue.
Pluses: Their opaque is truly opaque. And the feel is out of the world soft.
Minuses: Their regular hosiery is super silky. So, avoid any rough treatment, or they’ll snag.
Here’s the link to shop Oroblu.
A couple of other Italian brands you’ll want to know about:
Tabio – A virtual candy shop of colors and weights. And their small size fits women as small as 4’10”
Emilio Cavallini – Soooo many patterns and polka-dots.
Patterns & Colors & More! Oh My.
MeMoi
If you love fun patterns and bright colors, you must check out MeMoi.
My clients rave about The Brooklyn Flat Knit Sweater tights.
They come in 16 or so colors and do a great job keeping their shape.
Pluses: They offer sweater tights which are perfect for frigid weather. They also have a bunch of Curvy and Maternity options.
Minuses: Best on taller Petites – meaning 5′ and above.
