We’ve all been there… sitting on the couch at night scrolling through Instagram when a random sponsored post pops-up advertising a super cute dress. You slow down but see it’s from some website you’ve never heard of before, so you roll past.

I’ve done that exact thing a million times before. Then one night, things changed. I was toying with doing an article on the versatility of sweater dresses when a pic of this grey number appeared. (It’s almost like they were reading my brain.)

So I stopped, clicked over, and here’s what happened:

Shockingly Cheap

When I landed on their site, I saw the dress was $39!!! Yes! You read that right. Nope. I didn’t leave off a digit.

A half-second later, I clicked ‘add-to-cart.’ I mean, at that price, what’s the worst thing that could happen???

Shipped from Mars

I love to exaggerate, but in this case, when I say it took a month to arrive, I am not kidding.

It took so long, I had forgotten I ordered it.

Then one day, a package from China arrived on my doorstep, and I’m thinking what the heck?

Llaaaaa – I opened it and there was my lovely sweater dress.

Now, to be fair, most of the sites I shared have figured out a month from order to delivery does not work for us – so they’ve added a note on how items now ship within seven days.

I haven’t placed another order yet, so I’m not sure if that’ll speed things up or not, but it might.

Yeah, But How’s the Quality?

This maxi number doesn’t look a bit cheap in real life. I’ve worn it twice and it’s wearing like normal. Now, the material is thin, but that’s what I was looking for – so I’m good.

Sizing

After you find an item you like, the next question is size. If you and I have similar taste, you’ll notice that there is a lot of one-size-fits-all items. Or the measurements are in millimeters and centipedes, I mean centimeters. 🙂

I didn’t waste time doing some fancy mathematic conversion formula. I just ordered the size I usually wear and moved on. Again, at that price, what’s the worst thing that could happen?

So, that’s my super cute cheap dress story. I’d say that the next time one of these pics pops up on your IG feed, it’s worth slowing down and at least checking out. You never know, you could find your new favorite item at a shockingly cheap price.
